How I Work
I firmly believe that there is a time and place for everything.
As a holistic practitioner, it is important to acknowledge the uniqueness of each individual I work with. We are biochemically distinct and our health is influenced by interrelationships of body, mind and spirit. Natural health oftentimes requires patience and experimentation; results are not always immediate but always a worthy commitment. It is important that we do no harm and will thereby support the use of whole, nutrient-dense foods, a menu plan, recommendations for naturally sourced, Health Canada-approved supplements as well as a variety of lifestyle modifications.
Everything is customizable!
-Adjust food choice and diversity.
The basic aim: 30 different foods each week. In theory, this seems simple but in practice it can be quite hard if you are not already used to switching things up. Your body needs a variety of macro and micronutrients to be balanced and nourished! Adding diversity is exciting; trying new things can be fun.
-Supplement support and education.
Not all supplements are created equally. Looks can be misleading and there is a lot that can be hidden in the fine print. I am happy to introduce you to peer reviewed, well studied and tested products that are safe to use.
-An evaluation of your internal and external environments.
It is important to consider where your food is coming from, how sustainable it might be and the basics behind agriculture and economic development. What toxins might be present? What are you allowing into your body? Beyond food and it’s origin, it will be incredibly supplemental to think about the internal and external factors that affect your body’s ability to utilize the nutrients you present it with. Are you stressed? Do you sleep well? Is there a possible deficiency you are working with? These circumstances are likely to impact all the hard work of choosing healthier nutrients. Working with your mental and emotional health will enhance your ability to balance your physical health goals.

What does holistic mean?
Holistic health addresses the intricate connections physiological systems, gene expression, environmental influences and the complexities of life. A holistic approach focusses on the root causes of concern instead of masking the symptoms at hand.
The goal is to dive deeper and heal ourselves from within.
